    Hi crammy,
I just listened to the file, it sounds like mine in the clifton beach or CBH car parks which are great spots to listen to your own vehicle driveline with windows down in 1st gear.
These Manual constant 4wd Prados make a fair racket, when compared with my previous vehicles.
My sounds are geartrain/drivenline backlash due to loading up/ unloading between the torsen dif and front and rear diffs, with a little bit of gearbox rattle included, gets even more noisy when you turn a corner on a slight rise or decline which makes sense.
Owe and to add to the cacaphony a bit of Low Load "Meaty" D4D noise thrown in.
Sorry if it sounds a bit double dutch mate just my thoughts
07 Upgrade GXL D4D, Manual, Dune,Sov Bar, BFG's, SG11, Redark dual Batts, Extensive Aux wiring, Stebel, LED stop tails, IPF HID's (my mod), 240V Inv, ARB Comp, GME UHF,TPMS, Safari snorkel, GPS,Hilux washers, 40l Engel in 30% pas pos, homemade A/C cond protection plate, polyairs.

Hey Clifton thanks for your thoughts.

The funny thing is that it never sounded this bad until I came back from the cape. That trip sure did test the poor old girl out! I've also noticed my thrust bearing is noisy at times, I wonder if this has anything to do with it? I think it got damaged going through lakefield NP after some pretty hairy corrigations and bulldust. When we pulled up it was bloody noisy, but then quitend down over the next couple of days.

      Cheers,

      Crammy

        Hi Crammy,
That trip should not worry your clutch throwout bearing, but I do believe they are a little noisy in these trucks, I think a few members had some issues a while back with failed Clutch Thrust bearings.
I think we need to do a comparo soon as I have just recieved another Dealership Toyota survey form to complete.

2007 Man same noise as the sound file. I am certain it happens after a 100kph+ long trip, my thought was the oil thinned out, too warm? Did it from new, hope we aren't looking at premature transmission death. Toyota please respond! Do they need to improve cooling?
