Whitey1 it is a PITA but nothing more, no damage done at low speed reversing a caravan in low range which will lock your centre diff and bind the gears.

i have to do the same to get the boat out of the water

i use low just to go straight up then shift to hi

but it would be nice to be able to shift ( cant spell maneuver !!) the boat/caravan/camper around in low so that its not so hard on the clutch

I use low to pull our large boat out of our side driveway and all the way to the top of the street. Has never caused a problem in 10 years.
