GXL Universal Joint Oil Leaks

Hi,

I've got a 2004 LC120 KZJ120 with 119k on the clock and I've recently noticed that there seems to be oil leaking from the various universal joints in the transmission shafts and prop shaft. There doesn't appear to be any oil dripping and I have no stains on my driveway but there is a greasy build up on the underside of the car where it has been flicking around as the shafts spin. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

From your photo I would say that someone has been a little over zealous with the grease gun on the Prop shaft slip joint and universal joints.
I always request that the under vehicle greasing gets left to me when the Prado goes in for a service.
After a result similar to yours, (Post dealer service) I De greased the underneath and maintain the Uni's and Slip Joints Myself.

Thanks for that it has put my mind at ease I'm just learning my way around/underneath and finding it a real pleasure to work on, everything seems to be so over-engineered.
