Re: Drive Train Queries
I assume the handbreak works off the drive shaft?
When I park on a hill and put the handbeak on, then take my foot off the brake the car moves forward about 2 inches.
If it's an auto and you are in drive, then a slight forward movement would be normal (IMO) as the load transfers from the disc brakes to the drum only.
If it's with the slope and in Park(and reasonably steep) then is may just be the backlash in the drive train being taken up as the hand brakes on Prados are marginal at best and it may need adjusting.
I also notice that in second gear the seems to be a bit of a delay when you take your foot off the brake and the engine engages when slowing down, this makes the car rock back and forth quite a bit.
