The 2005 Prado that I purchased about a month ago has developed a noisy throwout bearing. It went into Toyota today to have a new pressure plate and throwout bearing installed. They are also going to machine the flywheel.
They just called me and told me that the clutch only has about 10% wear left in it and will also need to be replaced. My question is: Is this normal for a Prado with only 60,000 kilometres on it? The other ingredient in the mix is that I'm fairly certain that the vehicle has done its fair share of towing before I purchased it. I'm not overly mechanically minded, but I figure this wouldn't do a lot to prolong the life of the clutch.
