  • Transmission Clunk in 1st

    Hi Guys,

I've recently bought a KDJ120 and it's awesome apart from one thing. When I pull up at the lights, there is a noticeable thump after stopping as it drops back into first. Our 20 year old 90 series doesn't do this, my old mans 150 series doesn't do this... It's an 09 with 128km and serviced every 6K so I wasn't expecting anything other than usual wear items to be replaced.

I will book it in for a trans service in Jan but would love some heads up on what to expect from those in the know please?
    Cheers
    Ed

infamous tailshaft clunk. grease it up and make sure splines are greased.

Hi Piggy, Is there any truth that overgreased splines can throw some tailshafts out of balance? Heard some 4x4's have had it happen (must have been a lot of grease?).
