  • Diff lockers

Hi all, has anybody fitted a LOKKA diff lock to the rear of a 120 series 2009 Prado, and if so any issues with its performance.
Im looking at different options of lockers and this one comes in so cheap I thought it may be worth the exercise??

    Re: Diff lockers

I had a lockrite in my GQ, it was good in the bush but on the road it was interesting. I wouldn't fit one to a Prado. If it was me I would go to a diff specialist and get the LSD tightened.

i re-build my LSD about 2-3 months ago. there is no additional room to add another plate,
so a added a spacer to the spring to increase load pressure. still no change, and i replaced the friction plates,
so you can't get any more load. just a poor design.
i was trying to fit up a lokka centre, but the unit i got was wrong and the LSD version was delayed in manufacture,
and was going to be 2+ weeks more. couldn't wait, so rebuilt centre.

With the Prado being AWD, does this affect an auto locker on the rear.
Not sure why some say you cant fit it when its available at LOKKA, also ARB have manual lockers available for the Prado. :?

Bugger Thanks for the info, saves me the expense of pulling the diff only to find it can't be done.

An old one I heard was to add some Moreys stabiliser to the LSD oil to make it stickier. I wonder if this is the same as adding 2 stroke to a diesel
