I managed to win one of these at the GTG2011 and have installed it in my 150 D4D GXL. It seems to work fine and connected with no problem.
I could have used it during the GTG as my auto temp warning light came on while hauling my camper trailer up a couple of very steep long hills - and my car has had the update done.

Hi All,
Was particularly interested as our 2006 D4D GXL does not have fuel usage rates as per many other models. Then I have to say that I thought I wonder what else is in the market, so have looked a bit at eBay, and the web using some words that ebay gave as suggestions.
Found an interesting product at US$270 + US$40 freight called 'A-500 DashDyno', which appears clumsy by comparison, but comes with PC Data Analysis software to link to your car. Suddenly the ears pricked up considerably.

Now reading the fine print, it costs and extra US$100 to get the extra 'Toyota Enhanced OBD II' (the common OBD II codes are already included), though on the plus side, upgrades are free for life! (swings and roundabouts here). Just readingthe codes that MIGHT? be available blew my mind away (Lexus Passenger Courtesy light time delay setting!!) Toyota Enhanced User Manual is at

Amazon also had a few Reviews, and also on the page were a number of alternative products ranging in price from $28 for a 'ElmScan 5' (Cable plus Software), ScanGaugeE for $95, and the 'Autel MaxiTrip TP100' for $59, which looked similar in function to the SG2, but was described by a purchaser as 'cheap Chinese junk'.
There was a 'Autel MaxiScan MS300' which was a code viewer for just $22. (All the Amazon items have +Freight, which probably makes them impossible).
The next thought is China, and SE Asia, and how much more might a real diagnostic scanner be??
Any thoughts??

Howdy pjorek,
Have had a play around but at the moment can only get Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP), LHK/MPG/KPL, RPM, Coolant Temp, Battery Voltage, Air Intake Temp, Liters Per Hour, Engine Loading, Cost per Km, Trip fuel cost, Kph & Trip info. Have tried to programme Transmission Fluid Temp with no success. As far as I can find there is no Engine oil pressure or temp that i can find as yet. If i work anything else out will let you know
