    I have done the new wire under fuse box on a different vehicle and the connector was just a normal female spade with a tab to hold it in place like you get with a relay base. As to lifting the fuse box and fitting it, what a pita. Barely enough room to get under and while that was on a P and not a Prado I wouldn't even bother. You can get an ignition feed from a few places (wiper motor is easy) and use this to trigger a relay to provide power from a dedicated fused source off the battery just as Andrew suggests.

      I used a yellow blade crimp connector to tap into the IGN relay in the fuse box. Photo of the fuse box is in this thread
