its xr5 richo, i finifhed putting them and and took them for a test
std prado high beam

35w HID with high beam

reasonable happy, thought it would be a bit brighter, if i was get some more i would at least get the 55w or higher. cheers samo

That looks like a good spread of light, easy on the eyes.
I heard that to go to 55w all that is needed is to change the ballast, the lamps are the same.

well after having them in for a week or so i must say im more then happy with the light, it just takes a bit of getting used to, i was used to the yellowish colour of the halogen lights but now im used to the white light and its heaps better, still going to upgrade to the 55w in the future. cheers samo

well i just changed the ballasts over to a 55w and what a difference, quicker ignite time and a hell of a lot better light, very happy now. cheers samo

was another fleaby job, under $50 delivered 6000k, ie it was a full new kit with ballasts and globes. all i did was swap ballasts, took all of 5 min. haven mounted the ballasts properly yet, when i do i will get a few photos.cheers samo

Dragging up an old post... How are these going Samo? I've put a good quality HID kit in the Prado headlights and was thinking of getting some cheaper slim line ballast kits for the spots. Was thinking of doing the same as you as in buying the H3 style, drilling and fitting...

Any dramas?
