That looks like it is a temperature gauge (with buzzer) only, couldn't see any mention of low water level which is what I am after. I already have the scangauge to accurately monitor temperature.

Ok guys, i sent Aaron a detailed message requesting to put the low coolant alarm buy into the Group Buy area.
I also sent him a visitor message asking if he had received my pm. I have seen by his last activity that he has logged on and should have seen the pm and visitor message (i did not get notified that his inbox is full). To which, i am pretty disappointed that he hasn't responded even if it was to acknowledge the message and deny the request. I feel the group buy of the low coolant alarm would have been taken up by quite a few pp'ers (especially after reading this: http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...ighlight=pwado post #7) and even though i haven't got as far as getting a discounted price, i am happy to still give it a go.
Email me at [email protected] if you are interested.
Cheers,
John
Any one interested from interstate in getting a low coolant alarm, the package is not large and in my opinion would cost maybe $3 to $5 for post (but i would find out for sure)
I emailed you. AJ's response may take a while, last I heard he was still scraping liquid paper off his screen from trying to delete a paragraph on a rated recovery point thread.

I just bought an Enginesaver low coolant alarm. Probe fits in the bleed valve on the overflow tank so no drilling required. There is no way I would be drilling a hole in my radiator as I have been told the plastic tanks get brittle as they get older.

White 2012 GXL 150 TD Auto. Work in progress. Aiming to spend less than when I kitted out the 120!

I am cleverer than you think MLC, I used the angle grinder to get the liquid paper off

It's not going to be much good putting the sensor in the overflow tank. If you blow a radiator hose or fitting and all the coolant in the radiator leaks out the overflow tank will still be full and the alarm won't sound.
Prado 120 GXL v6 Petrol 2003, Lovell 50mm raised springs -HD Front -Medium Rear, Bilstein Shocks, 600w inverter, Rhino roof rack and tray.
As soon as you start loosing coolant from the radiator it will suck coolant out of the overflow tank, a bit of playing around this evening and I can tell you that you only need to loose a couple of hundred mls and the alarm goes off.

if you are slowly losing coolant it will suck from the overflow tank, but if a hose comes off and you lose the coolant quickly, there will be no suction to draw coolant from the overflow tank. The temp gauge will also read normal.
The car will run fine until the piston rings collaps and you will lose compression.
I have had a heater hose fitting (plastic) break off on my previous car, all seemed normal until it was to late. (very expensive repair)
When I checked the radiator it had no coolant but the overflow tank was full.

I started looking at these after having an issue with a small leak in the cooling system, fortunately I noticed it before it did any damage; and it was certainly drawing coolant out of the overflow. Whilst there are always possibilities of a scenario where the coolant alarm may fail, I am confident that it will alert me to possible problems long before they cause an issue.

When I researched this I found a lot of people fit them that way, can't comment from personal experience but everyone seemed happy with that system from what I read.

I bought the one Letsgoplaces refers to and AJ120 got. Seems anyone that mentions "Pradopoint" and "Mid Life Crisis" gets the unit for $160 instead of $190. As usual I get nothing except a telling off by mods for posting this. Such is life, God bless Mods, especially the ones I know personally that will verbally abuse me also
PS. Feel free to add reputation to replace what I lose
