The video signal into the 20 pin connector is only for the reverse camera input. There is no audio input to accept aux AV.

If you refer to this thread there is a 6 pin connector talked about that connects directly to the back of the unit (different unit to the one in this thread). I wonder if both of these inputs are the same thing?
The 6 pin connector is meant for aux AV. I believe this is the same connection as used by the 3.5mm aux jack to be mounted in the glovebox.

Can anyone identify the connector housings - Can can make my own if I can find the housings and terminals.
I have tried but without luck. The Toyota harness PZQ60-00110 can be bought for around $30 but it does not contain the 6 pin connector.

      Thanks

I found that my local dealer has the harness so I get that today.

I am trying to understand the functionality of the system now - If I select reverse, the nav unit displays the input form the camera, if I press the AUX button I get the video from the AV device connected. If thats the case then that is great. If I add the reverse bypas switch so I can use the reverse camera while driving I will lose the AV input (maybe V only) from the aux input.

So many unknowns - maybe I should just plug in the unit and suck and see.

Do you know if the video input is a standard input - If I connect any ol' camera to the V+,V- pins will it display a picture (CA+ is around 5-6V I believe for camera power so a seperate 12V will be required for a non OEM camera)

Yes, that is my understanding as well, but if you can manually trigger the reverse signal, you should be able to override it that way too. This way should override the aux video, but the aux audio will continue to play. You might need to put a diode on the reverse wire so that the reverse light does not come on during the override.

Yes, it will work. And yes a separate 12V feed to the camera will turn it on. You can tap the 12V straight from the reverse wire at the back and place the diode between the reverse light and the junction where you are tapping from.

          Thanks for the clarification

So I have the harness in front of me now and I am a little confused. I did not get a manual or directions with it so I have to guess a bit here

The green and the purple/white wires have a scotch lock on them to (i think so anyway) pick up the speed and reverse signal. But the housing that they go to (5 pin) is supposed to have speed, reverse and handbrake.

If they are indeed present on the 5 pin connector, why are there the two splice wires - is it just an option in case the variant does not have the 5 pin connector? I have seen the comment that it works without the splice wires connected, so that may actually be the reason but what happens to the handbrake wire.

If someone has the instructions for this harness can they please post it or PM me so I can get a copy

          Lots of experimenting to do.

          Thanks

I think the harness is specific for the install of a reverse camera only. The handbrake wire is for those units that can accept an aux video signal, so you would have to ground the handbrake pin to get the aux video to show up on the unit.

            Green = reverse camera input
Purple with white trace = speed pulse

All slowly starting to come together. I have found part numbers for all the connectors, referenced some of them to terminal part numbers and I think I am at a point where I can piece together a system that is quite functional.

Had a oh crap moment this morning. The unit I received has bluetooth and came with a mic that mounts on the steering column. There is a small harness and it cplugs into the bottom left connector (Have not identified that one yet). It breaks out into two plugs, one is the same as the reverse camera plug on the spped harness and the other is for the microphone. I think I could have used that for the reverse camera - more testing/searching to do on that particualr connector.
