Guys,
My ignition key became all of a sudden free and could rotate all the way to start, without starting.
Upon opening the ignition cylendar, it appears the long rod connecting the key part to the cylinder is broken from the inside. Mechanic also tellms me that the sensor is broke, although I have not verified the claim myself.
My questions is:
1. How can this happen all of a sudden with a mechanical (presumably strong) part
2. I got a lock smith to open on an off-day and he tried to start the engine by playking with a screw driver inside the cyclinder, but was unsuccessful - do you think he could have broke the sensor by poking
Mechanic is trying to repair that I am able to use the same key, an dnot change the full set. What is your recommendation. Can I have additional issues because of the repair and what is your suggestion new ignition set vs a repair? Can't addord a immobilsed car with kids on various terrains ! I will also post pictures tonight.
Best Regards,
Naukhez
