Clearance is about 12mm. Of biggest concern was 3-5mm clearance between bottom of grille and back of light.
Adjusting them was not easy either. One of the lights is OK but the other was either too high or too low due to the grooves / ribs in the mount that are there to help with alignment. I may yet have to either remove them by grinding / filing the plastic moulding or might use a piece of aluminium can in between the alignment faces to do away with the grooves. If it was a smooth surface then all would be easier although the grooves make the mount more secure.
Hope it all makes sense.Last edited by SGS; 10-08-2012, 10:16 PM.2008 120 D4D GXL Auto, ARB Bar.

I have been looking at these on ebay, great to see some photos of them in action. If I get two lights, is everything I will need - wiring, switch and relay - included, or does some or all need to be sourced separately?
Also, does anyone have an opinion re the difference in the nature of the light output between the 7" and 4" light, if both are 55w? Being a 1kz owner I have this paranoia re overheating, and I'd like to avoid blocking the grill as much as possible.

The lights are fantastic, the light they produce is nice and bright with plenty of spread and distance (I have Euro beam). So fitting issues aside I think that they are great value (55w hid for under $200. Or IPF for about $550 - $600 with aftermarket conversion).
Overall I would recommend these again.2008 120 D4D GXL Auto, ARB Bar.

The 7" black / red lights fit a deluxe ARB bar without drilling anything - just have a look at my photo in an earlier post.
There are very close clearances but it all fits without any drama.
Re waterproof and durability - I can't answer those questions for you as I have not tested mine to that extent (yet).2008 120 D4D GXL Auto, ARB Bar.

With regards to waterproofing, the electronics inside are in waterproof casings. There is a seal between the globe and reflector to prevent water getting into that section between the reflector and the lens. The opening where the cable comes out of the case is not sealed but you can remove a few screws to separate the front bezel to let the water out. But it's probably better to sikaflex the cable exit hole.
The light itself is pretty lightweight, so it should have a pretty good chance of surviving corrugated roads. I haven't tested this myself though.
