I have a Waco and a dual battery system, I also run power down to the caravan and an anderson plug to the van.
If all you are going to do is run a Waeco or fridge that uses 4 or 5 Amps off the main battery when the ignition is on, you don`t need to worry so much about size of cable.
I have run the Waeco of the cigarette lighter socket and it worked fine. What is scary however is how small the cable going to the 12v socket actually is.
Have you considered fitting a dual battery system, so that you can run your fridge when the car isn`t running?
