Well I got the Cibie Oscar SC's fitted yesterday by TJM in Newcastle.

They did a great job and were very helpful in making my selection - the Lightforce 240's were just too big for my bar.

The Oscars have a phenomenal spread beam of up to 75metres (not feet). The spot's range of around 600metres is a little short for my liking, so I'm going to supplement them with an IPF900XS spot, to sit in between the Cibies.

I can't recommend TJM in Newcastle highly enough - a very professional and friendly approach. The chap to talk to is Grant.

Once I've mounted the IPF spotty, I'll see what I can organise - if only I can take some time out from accessory shopping...

            Driving Lights

Hella Rallye 4000 pencil beams because the Lightforce 240XGT's would not fit into the ARB winch bar. Ebay purchase.

A pair of 55 watt Narvas in place of the fog lights in the ARB bar ($75 on special at Repco, as opposed to several hundred for the fog light kit from ARB). Had to fabricate mounts for them to suit and slightly relieve the rubber surround in the bullbar, but that just took some fiddling and fitting. These are angled out to light up the road verge, and are hooked up to dim with the High Beam.

Another pair of the 55 watt Narvas sit where the winch fairlead would be. I bought the winch bar in case I decide to fit a winch, and had planned to just cover the hole with the number plate, but the Narvas were cheap, and they fit perfectly, and the sockets from the factory foglights were vacant after fitting the ARB bar, so what is a bloke supposed to do? They run in the same way as the fog lights, and function really well for that purpose.

I had the front lights well and truly sorted, but I was mucking around on Ebay and sorta accidently bought a 6000k HID conversion kit for the Rallye 4000's ($220). Fitted the kit on the weekend.

OH. MY. GOD. THEY. ARE. BRIGHT...

No real problem with warm up after being dimmed.

Seems to be a bit of a dead thread so here is mine. Lightforce Blitz 240 on a ARB non winch bar. ARB could not get them to fit without hitting the grill and facing the ground. Fixing their inability to install correctly took about 10 minutes including re-routing wiring that was under constant strain. The wires pulled from the connectors between the bar and the body whilst driving on a Camry rated dirt road.

                Regards,

                Big Fella

If you can't fix it with a hammer...... you have an electrical problem.

                        Strewth - I can't remember now... ops:

ARB don't publish the data for their IPF HID but I think it might be around 6000K (I rang and asked before I bought them).

Unfortunately, it's not a detail that I stored... not enough RAM for that...

My personal pref, if I were to buy again, would be around 4500K.
