Finished the install last night, fantastic project, I ended up using the tinted lens from a pair of safety glasses for the display lens.

When I was looking the ebay ads usually gave the relevant dimensions.

When I was looking the ebay ads usually gave the relevant dimensions.

When I bought this one (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DIGITAL-D...d=474805605822), it had totally wrong dimensions on it and it was much larger than expected. It also came in red instead of blue. Since then, it looks like the seller has corrected his ad but it still doesn't have the cutout dimensions.

Is anyone able to tell me the exact size of the cut out for these 3 wire blue LED's from ebay?

Removed mine from the battery box and the body measures 45.2x25.8mm. Allow 0.5mm extra to give 0.25mm clearance all round.

For reference, the measurement for the bezel is 47.9x28.7mm.

There are 4 securing tabs, 2 on each of the long sides.

has anyone got any pictures showing where they have mounted them in an auto? I love the look of flying kiwis install, but he has the manual and the console is a different layout. Do the blue led ones fit within the blank switch covers?

I have just received a couple of the 3-wire ones with frontal frame, and they are too big for existing switch blanks. Measure around 45mm x 25mm, but do look good when lit up. I am now debating where to mount mine also, as I think they will get knocked around a bit if I put them on the console.

I think the green ones should work in well with the rest of the backlighting on the console switches.

Inspired by the installs, dezzert storm bought 2 voltmeters to install in the centre console of the auto 120. Here are some photos when he popped in today.

Masked up the console.


Overlaid the area with paper cutouts. Prior to this, located the reinforcing ribs under the console to avoid cutting as many as possible.


Scored the plastic.


Let the cutting begin.


After this we ran out of time to take photos as we go as dezzert storm has a 3 hour drive to their next destination. To be continued by dezzert storm with the finished install.

We also ran out of time to add the 2nd voltmeter but with the measurements, dual voltmeters can be done in the auto using the larger voltmeters.
