2004 prado sat nav install need help!!!

Hi all,am very new to all this so please forgive me if anything i do is wrong.Anyhow my problem is i have just fitted a sat nav to my 2004 prado GXL that came out of a 2005 hilux,as it came with a loom i thought it would be an easy installation(which it was) but i have two extra wires in the loom (brown,white) and i dont know where they go.The touch screen works with radio and cd but no nav yet ,I'm guessing these wires have something to do with it.ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED............cheers Ron

Sounds like they may go to the GPS antenna??

Reverse switch connections for rear camera perhaps??

Hi Damien thanks for that, but i dont think there for that ,the brown wire had a little bit of red wire still attached to it (Toyota had removed the sat nav from previous car)so i think they would have just sniped it off.but im to afraid to put power to it just incase i fry the unit,if only i could get my hands on a wiring diagram maybe i could get the unit going myself, if not its back to Toyota to get them to work it out. cheers Ron

Cost

If you don't mind me asking, where did you source the Hilux unit from, Ebay? How much did you pay as I am looking for a genuine one at the moment, but am trying not to spend the earth.

The brown wire is usually EARTH but its a bit weird having a red wire connected which is usually power +12v

I have the diagram for the satnav as a pdf file if you want.
just pm with an email addy to send it to.

I bought from ebay for a $1000,but they dont come up often,that was the first one ive ever seen and ive been looking for over 8 months.Not really the earth but better than the $4000 that toyota want. Good luck cheers.Ron
