I found mine on the trailer lights loom rather than cutting into the main Prado brake light wires.2[FONT=Arial Narrow]008 Prado GXL D4D Auto with Prado Pack

you just had me confused with your post mate.... finally found!... Easy to find! usually don't go together.
It's in one of the footwells in every car. If you have the time and the patience to find it, awesome. As a fitter, I don't have either. I need to get the job done reliably and in a timely fashion. Hence I use the reverse light itself as it usually takes me less than 5 minutes to remove the tail light, run a wire from the plug to the front of the car and secure it.
When determined to find it in the kick panel, I start by removing individual plugs to see which one kills the lights.

access to a reverse wire, large, red with black trace, behind passenger kick trim, at the lowest plug. I used the reverse signal at the back to power the cam. Rather than put it in the door I fitted it above the tow hitch.
It's central, perfect to back over the trailers, it was very easy.
