120 Grande - 2003/4. Rear light replacement

Sorry to post this 'silly question', but I have searched the forum to no avail.

The near side stop light is blown. I have a replacement. I removed the two holding bolts, but the plastic cover really does not move too much. There must be something else holding it in, or one must have to 'jiggle' it in a particular way.

I checked the owner manual and it says just remove the two bolts.

Anyone know how to remove the cover?

Give it a sliding slap with your palm rearwards on the side of the light.

Being a brute, I have broken so many plastic items in my years and was reluctant to force it.
