  • Dodgy Power Window Regulator?

    Hi there.

Last night went to drive off and put my driver's window all the way down. Went to put it back up and no go.
Have looked at all the obvious stuff, pulled the door trim off, pulled the switch apart and all seems ok. When I press the switch into the "down" position I can hear a click from the window regulator but when I put switch in "up" position I hear nothing.

Reckon it's the window regulator / motor or the door switch?

    Any thoughts?

Gonna cost me a bucketload right?

Assuming the switch connections are the same try the switch from the passengers side to see if it works. Should at least confirm if the switch is ok.

      Dodgy power window regulator

      hi mkh.
The same thing happened to my old mans 80 series. The window jammed in the down position. I was able get it to move by pushing up from the bottom of the glass and operating the switch at the same time. This was after i disconnected the plug connection to the door motor and checked i had a supply across the terminals. I then gave the winding mechanism a spray with INOX. hope this helps.

Turns out its a dodgy master switch. 800 bucks to replace. Ouch.

Crikey. For that price does it come as a complete door assembly

Have had a look on amayama. I had a quick look for a master switch and came up $271.92 . Iam not sure of the part number. I used 84040-60012.
