Hey Guys,
I cleaned the Throttle Body on our 2005 GXL 1GRFE and obviously I needed to disconnect the TB fly by wire connector to take off the TB.
In my rush to do so I didn't put a small screwdriver on the clip side to gentle pry as I pushed on the tab and the tab that locks the connector in has snapped.
As a hopefully short term fix i've superglued ever so slightly the tab that mostly locks it in position. The connection seems pretty solid in that I can't see it coming off, even without the tab but given enough time and bumpy roads I could have a melt down mentally at some point.
I suppose i'm asking does anyone have potential solutions? Is it possible to get the 5/6 wires that connect to the connector somehow out and just buy a new plug end? If that is possible is there a thread already someone knows of that deals with that kind of thing?
Moneys not a problem and so i would just buy a whole new cable but i looked quickly and couldn't see where it actually ends up. The wiring also goes through a ton of tubing with other wires so i'm thinking if it came to that i'd have to get it done by the tojo people to avoid any other mishaps.
The throttle body cleaning went fairly well apart from not being able to get the coolant hoses off... i'll need to get some new clips and hoses for that also next time.
Thanks for any thoughts!
Wes
