The Trojan 27TMH has dimmesions of 324x171 so this is too long (apparently)

I think you will find the battery dimension is the max length. If you look at the picture of the battery, there are "overhangs" on both ends. You might need to ring around and get someone to measure up the bottom of the battery :wink:

Yeah I had been trying to do that and did eventually get one of the battery suppliers to measure it up. Comes in at just over 300mm which will fit the tray no probs. The extra length was including the handles on the ends.

She lasted the whole trip! Only when I got back home I noticed the error light on the fridge flashing (temp of the fridge was 1 degree below set temp of 5) - I suspect that the battery voltage might be low. I'm going to buy a hydrometer and see how much charge the Trojan has at the moment.

Sounds a little strange that you're getting the error light coming on when you got home. your battery should've been charging on your trip home. What position do you have the battery protection switch set to?

Oh and you should be able to get a fairly good indication of charge by testing with your multimeter. Go to the trojan home page and they have a table there that will give you battery volt vs state of charge.

Reading your thread you ask what position the battery protection switch was set to, excuse my ignorance but is this switch separate from any other part of the wiring for the dual battery set up or is it included in the loom. I am doing my own dual battery set up using Piranha battery tray, Redarc isolator 6B & S wiring so forth.

Hey Ray,

The switch I was referring to is located on Waeco fridges on the end where the 12v/240v supply plugs in. Not sure if the engels have a similar setup.
