  • Trailer brake controller

Can anyone confirm if there is a blue wire for a brake controller actually running from the dash/engine bay to the Toyota tow hitch or do I have to run a cable myself? I know there is a blue wire down in the jack compartment but wasn't sure if it just ran to the 7 pin trailer socket or came from up front. Did the search but it wasn't clear.

    Thanks Jim.

    Hi Jim,
The blue wire in the jack compartment in our 2004 120 was from the trailer plug. I ran a thicker cable from the controller to the rear and used the original blue wire as a draw wire so no need to join it.
    Cheers,

You need to run it yourself. Best to get the figure 8 cable with the integrated blue wire made specifically for the job.

Thanks guys. I already had two 6 B&S cables running from engine bay to the rear battery otherwise I would have done that. So I'll just run another one for the blue controller wire.

        Cheers Jim.

What I'm about to use is 4 mm, about the same as the existing blue wire going to the trailer plug. Do you suggest I need to go bigger?

            Cheers Jim.
