Automatic door locking - I want it OFF?

Hi guys,

Looking to turn the automatic door locking off. Highly annoying when trying to set up camp and having to unlock the doors repeatedly.

Any ideas?

I thought it only relocked if you dont open a door with in a certain time.

That's how my VX works, about a 30 sec time frame. You must have a fault somewhere.

It probably is 30 seconds... but opening the door does not keep it unlocked. It will relock itself. I'm at work at the moment.. when I get home I'll do a few scenarios and report on exactly what's happening

Maybe your door switch isn't working. Is the dome light coming on?

Steve - are you opening the drivers door?

My 120 will only auto-lock if the central locking is unlocked and the drivers door doesn't get opened...

It doesn't matter which door on mine you open, once you crack a door it will no longer auto lock, that includes the tailgate.

30 seconds is the time frame as well, just timed it.

Just pondering what your issue might be, any chance you have disconnected the battery and not reset your windows? No idea if this would cause the issue but its a cheap easy place to start.

Mine doesn't relock after opening a door up. If I unlock it by remote but don't get to it by approx 30 seconds it relock a it's self. That would be a safety issue with it relocking. What if you opened the door up, threw your keys on the front seat, shut the door back up !! You'd be screwed, locked out. certainly doesn't sound right..... But mine is a 120 so maybe different functions available to be isolated ??? ... Cheers Steve

So I did some investigating. As everyone has said the tug won't auto lock if the doors are opened within 30 seconds. What I did find was that my rear passenger door switch if faulty which was the source of my confusion - I just need a new switch. Thanks for your help guys

Just check the wires are connected behind the switch, if so and possible, swap over with opposite side just to make sure it's the switch.... Cheers Steve

How did you get auto locking ON for a Prado 120? Mine doesn't have auto locking
