  • Prado GXL fog light and parker issues. Help please!!

    Hey guys,

Whilst fitting my bullbar my mate tried to "help" with the wirring. He cut the connector at the back of the drivers side headlight whilst trying to hook up the bars indicator and parkers. Long story short my parkers and fog lights now have no power running to them. Ive checked the fuses and tested the connections. The fuses are fine but the conections have no power.I was thinking maybe the switch could have been damaged when he cut the wires? Any thoughts or help would be great. Cheers

Do you realize there are 2 lots of fuses in the 120, under the bonnet and also by the drivers right knee, have you checked them all?

    Cheers Andrew

Yeah. Using the test light and a multimeter it showed that the connection to the parkers and fog aren't getting power. The fuse has lower running to it though. I can't make sense of it.

Dang. Maybe there is a short in the wire between the fuse and the plug

I think you may be rightone would think the fuse would blow before it allows the wire to short. I was thinking it may have damaged the switch ?

Follow the power, that's about all you can do. I guess testing power in and out of the switch is the next step, I cant think what else would be in the circuit to cause an issue, the only other thing would be a broken (cut) wire somewhere that wasn't causing a short.
