over head dvd player or head rest dvd player?

hey. lookin to put a dvd player in the car. we are tossing up between the overhead and the head rest ones. some people say the over head is better and some people say no bad because they get tossed and jolted etc when you are offroad. those people suggested the heaad rest ones so then you can take the head rests out when going off road. anyone got any suggestions for me?

I have two tablet 10" nextbase DVDs on the front headrests. They can be switched between cars !

Keeps the over sized rugrats amuzed while I recover the vehicle and they can both watch their own movies without arguements

I had a discovery with one on the roof but it tended to make people sick from some reason and the window seats had a difficult view of the screen.

Most of the DVDs have an inbuilt buffer to prevent loss of signal. The Nextbase ones work resonably well off road but constant corragations do make them jump occasionally.

there are plus and minuses for both types however for ease of installation I think the headrest models come out on top.

I have headrest models with built in IR transmitters in each for IR headphone support. They also have a second AV input to enable individual video game player support. Damn good quality for not much outlay. They matched perfectly with the ivory leater interior, they look as though they were made to go with the Prados interior they are that close.

A mate of mine had a roof mounted DVD player installed in his old Pajero, after a while it buckled due to the heat coming through the roof.

I'm not sure what brand he had, but he always buys top quality stuff usually. Just something to consider?

I like leather interiors on cars
How does the it go with the dust/mud ?
I am often covered head to toe and was advised by Toyota (salesman) to go the material as the leather stains easier ??

Pretty simple solution if you were worried and that would be to put a cheap car seat cover on for those days. Too be honest I think the leather is easy to clean compared to a material seat that allows the stains to sink in.
