Cruise Control Light Flashing

Hi Everyone,

I have already searched the site for this particular issue and have taken the following steps to fix the flashing cruise control light
-New brake light switch
-New brake bulbs
-Checked trailer plug - It's a standard Toyota loom, I made sure the connection behind the rear brake lights was all fine and that the brake wire in the actual plug was all good

And still after that the cruise control light still flashes. Cruise control still works fine, however after some time of cruise control not being active, the light will start flashing. I have noticed on 2 occasions that this was after the brakes had been applied.

If anyone has any other ideas I should try before taking it to Toyota or an auto elec, it would be appreciated.

Time to get out an OBDII device to read the error codes. It may shed some light?

Hi

I have the same problem. Mine has started since I had the brake switch replaced (ABS light was showing every now and again). From the codes on mine there is a collision (what my machanic has said) happening somewhere.

Thinking next service, due soon, I'll get them to replace the switch again and see how it goes.

I have a 2008 gxl diesel.

I assume you haven't changed your brake lights to LED?

No the rear light bulbs were changed to just normal bulbs
