  • Spot Spot or Spot Spread

I'm having my accessories fitted at ARB tomorrow. On the list is a set of IPF 900XS. I have only ever had the IPF900 with a spot/spread and was less than impressed. I'm leaning towards the spot/spot and upgrading the OE lights to increase the spread on high beam. Non HID at this point in time. Thoughts...

Spot/Spot for sure mate - I find the standard high beams spread well enough anyway.

      spot and spot.
that's my preference on most vehicles, due to the type of driving we do

I actually prefer the spread/spot filter on the Lightforce combined with the spot filter on the other light.

The lightforce spread/spot filter really does a great job but I reckon for the price of the spotties they should include this as standard equipment and not charge extra for it.

            Cheers,
I have the spread/spot covers on my XGTs on the Mav and find them excellent

I also have the spread/spot and spot set up, works a treat.

Had spot/spot but found I was blinding myself every time we approached those large reflective roadside signs.

I also put on those crystal blue covers that help with the glare also.

I run the spread/spot and spot set up as well.

Ill have to try some of those blue covers, as the glare off the road signs can be quite bad.

Spead /spread for me, spots are hopeless on twisty roads that I drive on longest straight would be 1km average 200 meters .
I have that IPF combo on my work vehicle and it works for me , I have a spread / spot combo on the Prado and not so good except for possum spotting .
Useless knowledge for today ............there are 3260 bends on the road , or close to on a trip from Hobart to Strahan ! One of my bored co-drivers counted them on trip .

Spread & Spot, wished i'd gone for 2 spots, with the HID in the Bosch lights, the spot gives a good spread & a long long range.

I have found the same as Yetiboy since the HID conversion the arc gives a good spread in the spot, therefore if HID comtemplated latter 2ea Spots are the go.

                              hi all

I have the IPF XS900 and IPF Fatboys.

Originally had the two spots but after a few months and driving on really dark roads with bends in them I found i needed more spread light to cater for the bends in the road - the spots gave great light but really only directly ahead ..

ARB then swaped over to a spot/spread and it is now better for me on the dark roads with bends.. IMO

                              Cheers
