Hi Guys, loads of research has not answered my questions! I am lead to believe my old unit had two antenna cables, a "sub antenna" and a fm antenna. The fm antenna is your normal type of connection but the sub antenna appears to be just a thinner model of the norm.
I had trouble with the OEM unit loading the map DVD so a new aftermarket head unit was purchased. Everything works on the aftermarket, much to my surprise. A full "plug and play" and all is great. A very small detail to take the OEM reverse camera inputs from a plug to an RCA but now I have a rear and front camera ( unit was supplied with a free camera).
Now the missus is telling me the radio reception is garbage. I am wondering I need a two to one type patch lead. I'd love to do what I can do to retain the window aerial but if nothing can be done then I suppose a roof mount whip may be needed.
Also, if anyone wants the OEM one that may just need a clean out to accept the maps DVD then I can post it at your costs.
