Hi,
I recently bought a pair of these of ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....m=310075044906
They are really easy to install once you work out what to do (the instructions are in broken english). I had to use a straightened coat hanger to get the wires down from the top of the seat to the bottom. It was a bit fiddley but very do-able if you are patient.
They are simple to connect together as each one has an A/V out and A/V in. You just connect them together and it is that simple. You can watch the same DVD or different DVD on each screen. It will even play divx movies off my 250gb portable USB harddrive - no real need to use DVDs.
I removed the rear panel on the centre console (it is only held in by clips - no screws) and found a wiring lume inside. I tested all the wires with a multimeter and found one that had constant 12v on it (does not turn off with ignition) and an earth wire. I spliced into these to get my power for the 2 monitors and all is good. The monitors 12v wire has a fuse in it which is great for safety.
Make sure that you email the seller before you buy and tell them you want dual channel IR headsets and they come with single channel by default. I read on a forum (possibly here) that the single channel IR headsets interfere with each other if you are watching different DVDs on each monitor. When I emailled the seller about this they upgraded them to dual channel free of charge.
I was going to hardwire them to the satnav headunit (model 26028) but the FM modulator works so well that I don't think I will worry about this. The only problem is that the FM modulators interfere with other radio stations so if the kids are using the IR headsets and you want to listen to the radio you need to turn the FM modulators off (just the push of a button) otherwise you get interference.
Last but not least the grey vinyl looks great and is of high quality BUT the grey is a different shade to the grey leather in my Grande (the vinyl is more of a beige shade of grey where the leather is more of a dark grey). This being said, everyone that looks at them says they look great and you wouldn't pick the fact that they are not a genuine accessory.
As you may have worked out, I am absolutely stoked with these headrest monitors and think it is $399 well spent.
If you have trouble with the install PM me and I will give you my phone number and talk you through it.
I hope this helps.
Regards
