I Have, we get them in at work , we make and fit interal roll over systems. They are the base model there is no third row seats or mounts for the seats either, looks a little strange, theres no GX on the back door aswell. Rusty.

Wasn't it the case that the GX used to look like the current "standard" model? Then the GX received some upgrades like the flared guards etc not that long ago. I assume the original 120 GX model had the pushbutton remote?
I heard too that the standard model was produced after it became clear that the mining sector began using Prado's as work vehicles. My girlfriend is a geologist and says that Prado's seem to be what the 4WD hire places in Kalgoorlie are renting out. Unless you need a trayback of course. With that in mind it's no wonder they are very basic as they'd get absolutely punished being used in mining.

Thanks Mick I'll give Jaycar a try
Just for the record every 2nd Hire Prado in outback SA& NT is a standard.
I got all goodies, cruise, abs, vehicle stability,tc,curtain air bags, climate control.Did not get rear seats, flares or Remote central locking
Now I know why my old model GX looks like a standard...had a quick look at one in fremantle today. old gx tyres are 225 like the new standard where the new GX has 265 fitted, flares etc.
I wonder if the funds manager would go for an upgrade - I do like the look of the grande

Yeah that's right. The original 120GX's had the narrow tyres fitted because they didn't have the flared guards. You can however put on after-market flares that will allow the 265's to go on. They don't look too bad. The current GX's I think have received some of the features that the original 120 GXL's had. Not everything though. You still get the steel rims and basic stereo for example but that's easily fixed.
Geez a Grande over a GX will be a bit of a price rise! But heck.... you only live once.... Unless you're James Bond....
