I have done a search and couldnt seem to find what I was looking for. The wifes Prado has developed an intermittent problem with the door locks.
Heres what happened when it did it to me, I unlocked the doors via the remote, opened the rear right door to belt in the young fella and heard all the door locks go. The wife had told me it did it a couple of days before so I unlocked it with the key again, opened the drivers door and sure enough it locked all the doors again??
Tryed a few different combinations and ideas, but even the doors that were open were getting the locks locked. Once the key was in the ignition it stopped and all doors stayed unlocked?
I know the old Subaru we had, had a timer that if the door wasnt opened itd relock after a time. I thought maybe the door sensors werent working but I assume it uses the same sensors for the interior lights which are working fine?
I thought it was maybe the timer faulty but again the sensor should override the timer? Has anyone had anything similiar happen, I am concerned that the wife may accidently lock the keys in the car with the young fella strapped into his seat, not good in this heat and she has started carrying the spare key in her pocket as a precaution.
Dont really want to have to go back to Toyota for it as I am not scared of wires but will admit I am out of ideas on where to start.
Its an late 03 GXL if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance for any help.
