Unfortunately you'll never get a fully charged battery with the D4D alternator, My main battery regularly sits on 12.4 -12.5v which is roughly 75 - 80% charged. This is one of the reasons I went down the Ranox route and also because I changed my aux battery from a wetcell to an AGM battery. The Ranox will ensure a 100% (or near enough to) battery charge every time. Previously my aux battery would only last probably a day and a half after a full days driving. When I say day and a half I mean without discharging it to a point that would damage the battery.
As long as you're not running anything off your main battery when the engine is off I wouldn't worry at all, unless of course you are already having problems?
