Anybody know of a twin post cranking battery (besides Optima). I want to clean up my terminal jungle.

You'll have to look among the marine/boat batteries. Both Century/Yuasa and Excide do them. Marine batteries will be more expensive but they make great 4x4 batteries... they have a heavy duty construction (to resist wave pounding and vibration) and some deep cycle capability (Boats have a high power draw due to GPS, sounders, radios being used with the engine off)

mine just 1 month before its 12 months anniv....mind you, toyo took one look at my car and mods and shook their head so after fittin a and tesing a winch i recon fairs/ fair and replaced it.

now running Supercharge allrounder and a sulfarid from Derek Bester....haven't looked back. hopefully will report the new crankin battery lasting more than 12months next yr.....

That's ironic, I just had a look at the Supercharge Allrounder and thought of replacing both my cranking and aux. They look good and the twin post is a great idea.

agreed....i looked at them in DETAIL and decided to get two (one as cranking as one as AUX). my AGM was replaced with one and havent looked back.

I just went out and bought an MRV50 to run as my auxiliary battery http://linux.supercharge.com.au/product ... php?seq=75

I used a 20% Autobarn discount coupon from the wife's 'Entertainment Book'. I'll replace the cranking battery next month when the next discount coupon kicks in :mrgreen:

2003 V6 GXL with 105,000 on the clock - original battery! I'll need a new one once the winch goes in, but pretty damn good, eh...

Good call... Just as I'd mouthed off about mine, it died! And I mean really died - not even a Ctek could bring it back to life.

Not a biggie as I needed to upgrade to a bigger battery for occasional winching. Went for a Supercharge Gold - MF95D31L - 760CCA's and 160A RC - 100Ah.

Cost a $150,- and the guy even insisted on fitting it for me. Time will tell how long I'll get out of this one...

Hi Deeptank,

Isn't the MF95D31L a calcium type battery, if so you may find you won't be able to
charge it properly as the require at least 14.6V to fully charge?

It does mention 'calcium grid technology'... The spec sticker on the battery just states max. charge voltage at 14.8V - no mention of a minimum.

In any case, as mine's a V6 petrol Prado I don't have the low charge voltage issues some D4D owners have been mentioning.

Just replaced my OEM starter - 80,000KM and 4 years - thought I did well out of it.

Replaced with Exide Extreme to match the second battery

2004 OEM battery just died, although its been in my Hilux for last 12 months. Changed it before last trip to the Pilbara

I'm still on my original batteries, car was new in May 2003.That's on a diesel as well
