if i may ask a question , i want to fit cruise control to my 2006 Automatic , i sent an e-mail to autoren , but no reply yet. , i sent e-mail to Toyota dealer in Australia ,and he replied Toyota don't sell cruise control .

i found the following parts regarding cruise control by Vin #
84632 SWITCH, CRUISE CONTROL MAIN $113.38
84633 WIRE, CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH $40.09
90159-50199 *** STD. PART $0.98

qustion #1
am i going to need anything else? woild it be plug n play?

if your answer would be yes (which i hope) i would have 2 choices either to get it new or search at the wreckers.

There is an American Company http://www.rostra.com/custom-drive-b...-by-rostra.php that sells these for $199, it fits the FJs so it has to fit the prado as well. I will buy one to fit on my 2008 SWB Prado, 2.7l, this will take some time, but I would love to have cruise again.

I was at the dealer yesterday, they claimed my car cannot be retrofitted with one, it is an automatic GX 2.7 litre. Hisham, any luck?

I got the same parts for my Prado TX.L-2011 (2.7 L4) how ever upon installing the part and attaching wiring / connector, nothing is happening, i am trying to get the cruise option enable through techstream software, still no luck.

if someone who has already perform this can guide me the correct approach?

I purchased the OEM parts from the dealer, but no explanation here on how to connect the wire from the cruise control stalk to the plug that goes into the steering wheel base that is next to the yellow wires, help please!

OK, so now I have the CC working. My initial hypothesis was correct, i.e. that an open circuit on the clutch switch caused the system to disallow a set of the cruise control. I hotwired it with a jumper, but I will order the real part from Toyota (assuming it doesn`t cost a million bucks).

The hard part was that the (useless) toyota manual doesn`t actually show you where all the parts are. Specifically, where does the clutch switch actually go? I assume it replaces the stop bolt on the frame for the clutch pedal, but who knows? The wiring was tucked up underneath the dash. It took a little while to find, but as soon as I did and fitted the jumper to it, boom I was in action.

I did actually look at a manual GXL at the wreckers today (BTW for all Perth people, Tony`s has 120 series prados like they are going out of style... just don`t look for any airbag parts or straight bumpers ahhahaha). I didn`t see anything obvious for the clutch switch, although I couldnīt look too closely, what with broken glass on the floor and all.

Anyhow, success is the story and all you need is:
1. cruise control comb switch (80 bucks)
2. clutch switch (price TBA)

Simple. Cheap. Effective. Of course, when I kick in the clutch with the cc on it now revs its head off. No surprises there.

Hi guys!Good information here.Purchased 2004 GX automatic recently.I bought Genuine parts off eBay from wreckers.I will add on audio control to Double din HU in one go.Cant wait.Pretty excited with the project.
