Got it to work with my March 2005 Prado VX auto petrol. Dave at Wooders was very helpful, and it only took 30 sec to install, and .00001 sec for the "minister for home affairs" to spot.
Has anyone been able to confirm if it works with the new diesel engine?
I'm sure this has been confirmed in some other thread, but yes, does work in the D4D.
I got mine about a week ago and am very happy with it.
One thing of note was that the snorkel (as well as helping with intake air temperature as noted by others), also helps ram in the air at speed. It looks like it gives about an extra 0.6 psi traveling at 110 km/h.
OK, so whilst I was disappointed that the Scanguage didn't work on my 04 Petrol (missed by a month it seems), I have to say that Dave from Wooders was amazing. Absolutely no problems returning it & he even rang me to say he had received it and would be processing the credit shortly. This is the sort of service that deserves our support. Now we just need to talk him in to moving to WA & he can have all my car work.
(non commissioned comment. I get nothing out of this but believe good service deserves to be talked about as well as bad).

Sometimes I start my car and scangauge does not come on. I could be driving and the trip data is not recorded. But when I press the power button it works and comes on. Does anyone experience this problem?
90% of the time it comes on by itself when I start the car.

Mine does the same, although I think it is actually working just the display does not wake up until I hit the home button.

I just received this email from Scanguage regaridng my question.
"The ScanGaugeII turns on when the alternator starts charging the battery and raising the electrical voltage. There must be a voltage rise of 0.3V or more in 1.3 seconds or less.
Do this - Set up VLT as one of the gauges and let the ScanGaugeII go to sleep in the gauges screen. The next time, before you start the vehicle, press the HOME button to activate the ScanGaugeII. Start the vehicle and see how long it takes for the charging system to raise the voltage to 13 Volts. Most vehicles can do this in less than 2 seconds"
Just received and installed my ScanGuageII and found a feature which is undocumented.
MORE>SETUP>FUEL and an option CUTOFF is available which lets you enter a value. Anybody have any idea what it is? I emailed Wooders and ScanGuage and am awaiting a reply.

Just had a reply from the manufacturer on the CUTOFF option:
The CUTOFF was a last minute addition to the ScanGaugeII. Some vehicles will
report when they shut off fuel flow during coasting with the engine in gear.
The same signal also indicates when the vehicle is enriching the fuel
mixture during hard acceleration. If the throttle position is below the
CUTOFF value when this signal is received, the ScanGaugeII assumes it means
0 fuel flow. Above this it means enriched flow. Normally you should not have
to change this. If your TPS is above this level when you are coasting with
your foot off the accelerator, you would need to raise it. If you set it to
0, this detection is turned off.
I have noticed another feature which I have requested info on and will post the reply when I get it. The new feature has to do with the cost of the fuel. I have not investigated further as I have only had the ScanGuageII for less than a day!!
I must say that the response was very quick :P

The cost affects the cost-per-mile gauge and each of the trips has a trip cost of fuel. For instance you can use current trip fuel cost to show how much each trip costs (to school, the store, work, etc.). If you make the current trip fuel cost a gauge, it is like a taxi meter, counting off the dollars and cents.
I need to play with this feature and see how it works and then may post some instructions for those who get the new gauge.
I wonder if there is a facility to update older gauges with these new features? Someone with an older gauge may want to pursue this.
