Re: 100 watt HID kit
can someone help with a fault i have with my hid kit for my ultima 225's
I already had 2 spots converted till i smashed one and decided to buy another set and add a 3rd.
My first problem was that i thought i should be able to use the power off one of the other lights but this not prove to be right and ran a whole new wiring which came with the new kit anyway.
the ballast fired up at first than i heard some arcing in the harness and seemed to have a problem there. I than re-wired with cable thats about the same thickness but does not have the extra insulation like the harness from the kit.
This ballast does not want to work with this wiring at them moment i'll call this the 'bad' circuit.
When i plug the 'bad' ballast into a 'good' circuit (original kit) it fires up.
However when i plug a 'good' ballast into the 'bad' circuit it also fires up.
I also tried the 'bad' power with a 'good' globe and no go.
I'm completley buggered for why this is happening. I am definately no auto sparky but something seems to be backwards somewhere.
EDIT: Right o after feeling slightly stupid after posting i left the two ballast in the circuits where both worked. duh! However i did notice that on start up i can here some sort of arcing going on. I'm pretty confident in my soldering. Possible broken cables? (this is between globe abd ballast).
Help would be appreciated.'03' GXL 3.0TD, Tracklander tent rack, BFG A/T 265/70, Bilstein shocks and Lovell springs with polyairs, Safari snorkel, GME TX3100 UHF, Narva ultima 225's - HID conversion, dual battery's - National luna controller, ARB roof top tent, ARB 2.5m awning, ARB on board compressor Tyredog TPMS, 3" turbo back Pacemaker exhaust system, Dig Options premium unit. Re: 100 watt HID kit
Gday,
My first time on Pradopoint dont quite know how to post a query without replying to someone elses convo. Apologies if i am butting in at the moment. If someone could help me out with this that would be much appreciated. I am buying my first Prado very soon and intend to deck it out with mostly ARB gear, although there prices are certainly not the cheapest, the quality of there gear seems to be un rivalled. Most immediate question is will the Lightforce 240 blitz's fit inside the ARB deluxe bullbar without protruding to far forward.
Cheers Heath

Re: 100 watt HID kit
G'day Heath - I'm pretty sure a few rigs (mainly 120 and 150 series) on here have the Lightforce 240's on an ARB bar, best bet is to use the search function up the top and maybe try typing in lightforce as a start and see how you go. Otherwise go to the My Rig Buildup section and start searching - there are some awesome rigs on here.NOW FOR SALE!!! - 2004 Silver GXL 3lt 4spd Auto - ARB Bullbar, Safari Snorkel, Redarc Dual Battery System, Cooper ST MAXX, Dark Tint, IPF900XS spots, Raised Bilstein/Kings Suspension/Firestone Airbags, Autosafe Cargo Barrier, Sandgrabbers, Rola Roof Rack Stuff, Insect Screen, Dust/Wind Deflectors, Sheepskin/Black Duck Seatcovers, GME TX3510, ARB underbonnet compressor, Allied Hammer Rims, ARB UVP, AJ Sliders
