  • Brake controller install

I have a second 120 Prado, (2005) that I want to install a Tekonsha P3 controller to. I did this on my other Prado a few years ago and remember after running a blue wire all the way down the inside of the vehicle that there was already a blue wire at the rear of the vehicle that must be part of the trailer plug loom. Does anyone know where the loom starts and if it is easier to tap into this wiring for the controller install? It should save a lot of time if the wires start under the dash somewhere.

On my 90 and 150, the Toyota trailer wiring comes from a plug in the left rear panel, where the Jack is stored.
There’s a couple of relays too for the trailer’s indicators.
No trailer brake power wire as this has to be large gauge to allow for voltage drop and has a resettable breaker at the start.
