You could be running at 5-10W instead of 100W for the headlights + the parkers

But what is the actual benefit? Very few people would be maxing out their alternator and fuel savings would be bugger all.

And who has 100w low beams?

I must say I never really understood this one, especially as the Prado headlights turn off automatically. I have been known to drive around for months on end without even realising I still had lights on, never caused an issue.

Having my low beams on I drop about .1 to .3 of a volt. Because I live in a hot climate my voltage can drop as low as 13.6v on average and that is with a voltage boosting diode installed. This means more time to charge both batteries, more load on the engine but more importantly less voltage getting the camper trailer battery.

The other benefit is improved visibility for other drivers especially on highways and in my case at 130km speed limits.

For some it's about being seen. I live in a green hilly leafy area surrounded by rainforests... so many times idiot tourist drivers haven't seen me coming around a mountain bend in my green prado.... until I put DRLs on it.

I have the LED replacements for the Narva parking/indicator lights on the Toyota Sov bar.
I also drive with my headlights on all the time, unless Mrs MD is in the car, she hates them on, says they are too bright

I have to say that since I installed DRLs I have seen a noticeable difference in people pulling out on me. Not sure why.

I feel it would be neater if you could procure round ones and replace the ARB fog lights. Face it, the ARB lights are next to useless...
