Hi Babs,

I bought a kit from a seller in Hong Kong, Bennyw62 I think he trades as. Bought the 55w 6000k kit. Got them in about 4 days and I was able to track them all the way. Paid $139.00 plus freight from memory.
Installed the kit myself but had problems trying to lengthen the Hi tension leads from the ballast to the light so ended up rejoining them to the original length and mounting the ballast on a bracket on my nudge bar.
I have one spot and 1 spread beam and the light is fantastic.
Would not go back to QH now.

Is the Ballast waterproof? I'm thinking of doing something similar.

Dustie, the seller says that they are water resistant. I haven't encountered any problem as yet but then again it hasn't been raining all that much. Don't know what they would be like if you took them swimming.

Ive got IPF 900XS HIDs (one spot, one spread) plus fatboy globes in the headlights of my 90 series. Its a fantastic setup and can see clearly for ages. Am sure you could get more light (and a lighter wallet) by going to lightforce 240 HIDs but very happy with the light output for the size. The ballast's are mounted just in front of the A/C condensor behind the bull bar. ARB mounted em like this so can only assume these are waterproof enough to be mounted there.

I got a question for some of you that have placed an ebay bought HID upgrade kit into the IPF XS 900 spotlight, ive looked around but cant really find what i need to know. When you buy a H9 kit I belive it is? does it come with a new bulb holder that requires mounting, or does the new HID globe use the existing mount inside to spotlight housing? If it is a new globe mount does it require any modification of the light, or is it simply remove and replace? (except for a new hole for wiring) Also does the globe mount (if required) change in style from different sellers? what should i look out for? thanks in advance for your assistance.

Hi Cruisin120,
it is simply a matter of removing the old H9 bulbs and fitting the new HID bulbs into the refelector. No other modifications are needed though you will need to drill a larger hole in the back of the light to run the loom through.
I bought my kit thru seller bennyw62 and his kit advertises that the bulbs have ceramic bases not plastic that some other seller supposedly sell.
Mine are the 55watt 6000k bulbs and I love em.

Fairly easy install actually but the only thing I had to do was lengthen the wires to get the ballasts to the back of the engine bay

Thats for the help and information fellas, most appreciated, retired the lightforce and have ordered the hid kit from the benny... seller, and a set of IPFs!
