      Ryco - Z699

      Westfil - WCF48

Both of these filters are for both the 120 & 150 series D4D's under the bonnet fuel filters! (The big fuel filter)

Both of these filter's can also be easily obtained from bursons/ Repco and super cheap auto!

      Cheers

PS ... Ooooops! I didn't read your question properly! The cabin filter as in pollen filter is "WACF5231" for the 120 series and "WACF0040" for the 150 series!

        thanks
        so just to be clear
        for the 120 D4D
        WACF5231 for cabin pollen filter
WCF178 for the filter between the tanks above the tail shaft
WCF48 for the water trap filter under the bonnet ( for diesel engines)

i have been using the kit from Donaldson ($50) for air filter, oil filter & fuel filter when servicing my car
they are supposed to be equal or exceed the manufactures specs

Yes!... This is correct as have just double checked now on there parts list!

You will also find that Ryco & Westfil also meet/ Exceed Toyota's manufactures specs and well exceeds Toyota's pricing by a country mile! Lol

An update concerning fuel filter for the 150 series.

I just noticed (Now) that westfil updated there parts sheet today at 1am (06-02-14) and changed the part number on the 150 series from the Westfil - WCF48 to the now WCF104! .... The part numbers for the 120 series are still the same so don't panic!

PPs Don't get the pits with me as i am not the one changing or updating the parts list! Boooooooo!

            Cheers

I agree, I use fleetguard, should be good considering they run them on cummins, caterpillar etc for a lot less than genuine!

Replaced the under-body diesel tank filter recently. For those who are keen to take this on it is relatively easy and takes no time at all.

Just look through this thread and there are some excellent instructions and images to assist.

Tip; after removing the two 6 mm bolts allowing the filter to drop a little, I placed a small blade screw driver in the hole in the front of the orange clip, reached around the back and squeezed together the 'legs' of the back of the two orange clips. This disconnected the 'teeth (one on each leg) and while holding these in levered the screw driver and the orange clips come out easily first go.

Not a job I would like to do on a trip but certainly doable if necessary.

I tipped the fuel out of the removed filter onto a clean cloth and it was spotless thankfully.

No need to tackle that job for another 20 k.

For those that dont know, there is a second fuel filter in the diesel models underneath the car next to the tailshaft. I finally got around to replacing mine today and upon inspecting the stuff that came out of it, I presume it hasnt been changed in a long time.
There were no distinct particles, but the left over diesel in this filter was black like used engine oil! It hadnt come through to the main filter (touch wood) but it's certainly worth being aware that the filter is there and needs replacing!

                    Brad.
I have 150 2011 with dual tanks and yes the filter is there, clean fuel was all I found. Maybe the black stuff is a biological contaminant. See if you can get hold of some "Afloc" from a farmer who stores lots. 1 itr does 10,000 ltrs. I found an after market filter at Menai Auto Parts for less than $35.

Just to clarify a bit - no offence the small flat blade is parallel with the fuel line when inserting. I got it wrong and attacked the hole in the orange 1/2 - not pretty, and didn't work. On mine there was no hole on the outlet side and I had to massage the "legs" a bit to get them to release. All good.

Did mine on the weekend. Talk about bloody easy to do. Took less than 15mins.

Only thing I would say is don't get carried away trying to pry that orange clip out from the front on the hoses. You will break the tabs.

I undid the mounting bolts and that gave me access to the rear with my fingers I pushed the clips in and pushed and the orange clip came out and off came the hose.

Did mine today. Not to difficult but the shit that came out of the filter surprised me. (Black and dirt particles) Found no record of Toyota ever changing this filter which means at least 200k on one filter. Had a look at the cabin filter also black and completely blocked.
Aircon works much better with new filter. This filter is sooo easy to change, no need to remove glove box just pop past the stoppers and slide it out. Less than $80 for both.

Why doesn't the old 1kz have that filter too? Is it because they saw how crap our fuel is and decided to add another one?

Because your 1KZ tractor can drink fish and chip oil and all that used batter would clog up the D4D filter.
