If your's is a D4D it will have a D4D badge on each of the front guards near the doors and I think it first came out on 2006 vehicles from October build (same as mine)

            Hi Worthy,

If Jap vehicles aren't on the top of your list of manufacturers, and you had carte blanche on what make and model you'd buy, what would it be?

            Just curious!

              Hi Worthy,

I'm curious to know, what is actually wrong with your car? also did you work out which diesel engine you have? Is this the first Diesel you have owned/driven? Were you expecting much more than you are getting in terms of performance?

I personally have found Japanese cars to be of a consistent high standard, in particularToyotas which explains their popularity in this country, especially in the bush. I cant actually recall hearing about a Toyota lemon. I'm sure they have issues like every other manufacturer does, but they seem to get the bugs sorted out better than anyone, before a model gets released.

Unless I've missed an earlier post, fill me in... I'm interested to hear about it.

What's the power differences between the pre D4D 120 diesel and the D4D?

I'm happy with my pre D4D motor.

Heaps! You should try to get yourself a test drive of one. I wasn't going to upgrade this time round until the next model came out but one test drive and it was ordered.

32% more power (dealer specs) 96kw vs 127kw
20% more torque (dealer specs) 343nm vs 410nm
19% better fuel economy (my actual increase between 2003 td auto and 2007 D4D td auto still with low km on the clock) 12.8l/100km vs 10.4l/100km
Here for a good time, not a long time!

That is a big difference, unfortunately I bought to a budget this time due to a change in job and uncertainity of how it would pan out.

So what was the power in the 90 series diesel or is it the same as the early 120?

                    Cheers

                      = 96kw@3600rpm + 343Nm@2000rpm, Ave Fuel 11.4L/100km

                      New D4D (1KD-TE)

a few reasons to be even happier?
