BP Ultimate Diesel now $1.64 near me. For my next fill up I'm not going to bother with the EFTPOS card. I'll just turn up with a sack full of gold bars and pray it's enough. Nothing nefarious is happening!! Oh no! Pre-Easter BP Ultimate Diesel was like $1.40 odd. Now $1.64! Funny how the oil price increases are instantly reflected in our bowser price. But drops in the oil price are vvvveeeerrrrrrryyyyyyyyyy slow to filter through. Of course I fully believe that the large fuel companies go in to bat for the little guys..... Oh yes.... I firmly believe it....

The "ol black stuff has been $1.50 for weeks in Hobart ,then went up to $160 on Monday . It's $1.90 on Flinders Island (where I'm working this week ).
Just in case you don't think that we use much fuel on the "Little Island " I went through 580 litres in the work Patrol last week!
Could be worse we hired a helicopter to take us to Maatsuyker Island off the southern end of Tas . and it used 600 litres of kero for a couple of hours flying (total cost there and back about $5000 )Comment

ULP difference
It was $1.65 at my local BP yesterday and unleaded was 26 cents cheaper... the bit that annoys me the most is the ever increasing gap between Unleaded and Diesel :evil:
Sunrise had a segment on this exact topic recently and the answer was that the demand for Diesel in China is high therefore Diesel is more expensive (even though it's supposedly cheaper to produce).Comment

Diesel is not cheaper to produce anymore since the emission restrictions came into effect some years ago.

The Barkly Homestead is renowned for its high priced fuel, Their ULP price is $2.03 and PULP is $2.05 so put into perspective alongside the other fuels there the diesel price is not that much more than ULP.Originally posted by MattWhite
