For a comparison on petrol/diesel, my 03 model v6 has run through 2 tanks so far, 1200klms from 1st tank @ 159L, 1200 from second tank at 163L, only mods being sovereign bullbar, aircon on half the time, live in a steep hilly area, combination of highway, around town, few hundred kays up the beach and in the bush, cooper AT,s with about 30% tread left running 40psi, i don't flog it, but i don't baby it either. Approx 600klms per 90L tank which is fine by me for such a large vehicle, last car was an AU falcon ute, it averaged 500klms to an 80L tank so it could reasonably be stated it,s slightly better on fuel than the ford, after driving the 2.7L petrol models and the diesel, im stoked with the 4L v6, not a fan of diesel and i don't tow.
cheers

I'm averaging 11.1lt/ 100km mostly highway driving, not flogging it, done a tank around town when I was on leave and averaged 13/100 but could be that the airfilter was due to be swapped and I was a bit more of a heavy foot. My mate with his vw amarock averages 8.1combined!!!2008 120 Series 3lt D4D TD Prado GX, With to many bits to list :-) and more to come!!

I am getting 10.85 litres per 100km's out my 2008 D4D combined, so I am pretty happy with that, stock motor and exhaust, no snorkel, sovereign bull bar with light force Spotties and 265/70/17 all terrain TA's tyres.
Due for service, this is happening this week so see how it goes after that.Last edited by WOODYSD4D120; 24-03-2013, 08:30 PM.2012 BLACK 150 GXL PRADO, ARB DELUXE COLOUR CODED WINCH BAR, REDARC DUAL BATTERIES, 240 BLITZ HID UPGRADE SPOTTIES, 32 INCH LIGHT BAR, LED INTERIOR LIGHTING, HID AND LED HEADLIGHT UPGRADES, CHIP BOX POWER CHIP, 265/70/17 AT BFG, REDARC ELECTIC BRAKES, SCANGAUGE, SAFARI SNORKLE, POLY AIR BAGS, 40 LTR ENGEL, MAXTRAX, RECOVERY POINTS, ARB TOWBAR, TOYOTA ROOF BARS.

Happy enough with that considering lift, LT tyres, bullbar, roof racks etc etc.
Scanguage initially told me 7.9 (yeah right) but now after adjustments showing low 10's.

2003 120, 1kz manual with 265/70-17:
Always mixed driving because of the big tanks, 50% on road @ mainly 100k, some towing 500kg, about 30% bush tracks,
averages 13lt/100k by odometer. I'm getting 2% better than odometer.
Worst ever, 13.8lt/100k
Best ever 11.4lt/100k sitting on 100ish not much overtaking - (on the way to Fraser)
On the way home with reco injectors from rocklea diesel 12.5lt/100k???? Will watch that one - (no wind)
In a high country trek of tracks, I get at least 600k+ before 90lt light goes on.
Uses a little more when towing & in sand but not too much.
Pretty economical when you think of the aerodynamics, Roofrack, lift, tyres, weight, etc.

I have 6 years of records now, and with all mods, I consistently get 13 - 13.5 around town. Can go as low as 12 on the highway, but hook up the van and it can climb as high as 17 - 17.5.Rob

I rarely measure consumption, but I know my worst ever was 169 lts for 760kms, which is nearly 22 l/ 100k. Mind you it took 9 days solid driving to go the 760k and I spent much of that time in 1st or 2nd low

My truck only does 30k a year, all trips!
Going to & from day trips& weekends mainly, also in summer towing jet ski to the beach to do trips like what we did in February, 12 apostles from the water.
I'm expecting the worst in August/September this year between mt dare& Birdsville.
So yes, it's a play truck that's really for playing, I recon 30k a year is a fair bit of offroad,
Perhaps I need to do bigger trips, which I'm getting more into touring rather than day trips.
Even heading to robe last November sitting on 120k in 43degrees giving the 1kz a workout there and on the soft beaches & dunes, that was my worst tank, which was better than 14l/100k.
It's just a good well looked after machine, that gets a caning from time to time. I think using the right gear selection & tyre pressure most if the time helps.
I will do my best to do more offroad
