bloody hell mick ya would have to be happy with that, on the minus side that fuel would have cost you $1214.10 at $1.90. we r getting bent over by oil companies, if only we could do something about price of diesel, but never the less good economy for the old oiler
had an 03 gx 120 with some gear now got a 2013 bt 50 GT auto some ARB gear.

likewise Samo, average since day 1 is high 11's, my last tank was the best so far at 10.8 but that was a lot of highway... often find myself looking for 6th gear

This is virtually identical economy to my prevoius car (Fairmont Ghia 6sp Auto).

I expect that this will improve once the motor has covered some more km - can anyone advise if they have seen much improvement once run in etc, Thanks
              G'day Bettsy,

Congrats on the first refill! I still remember mine .

For the first few fills I recorded similar figures to you. I've just had my 10,000km service and am currently getting 9.3l/100km with mixed driving.

                  Hi All,

Does anyone own a T-Van? or an offroad Caravan?

If so, what sort of fuel economy are you getting towing it?

I ask this as I am starting to organise my vehicle for the GTG next year, and trying to work out approx cost in fuel, as I am heading to Townsville first, then going onto the GTG.

Would appreciate answers from those who have a D4D.

                      Welcome Loges!

I don't believe it can ever be that clear cut. There's too much human factor to package it up in any formula.

Ultimately, choose the one that takes your fancy, for whatever reason. They're both brilliant.

                      Cheers,

wow - on the way to a work site i hit 1001 kms on the trip meter and then the green 90L came on. Mixed city-80km/hr to:from work and various site trips.

if the tank is 93L - that's aprox 9.3L / 100km which is as per the manuf! Bizzare.....

I reckon! An honest manufacturer - what is this world coming to?? .

I also got 9.3L/100km with mixed city-110km/hr. Pretty damn good. I think the ScanGuage has helped us achieve that too - we tend to try to be green in our road driving habits... not so green once we hit the beaches or trails  .

maybe i need to get a scangauge for the ski boat. that seems to scull petrol...

i was beginning to think my green-light-controller-thingy-majig had failed - it didnt come on until the gauge was just under a half

BTW - tried to use up a bit of fuel last night - overtook a L plate driver (in a driving school car) - going up a hill, in the RHS (fast) lane doing 50% of the speed limit. When they finally decided to go to the LHS lane (indicated for nearly 100m before s l o w l y moving across) - i put the boot into it and lost it in a cloud of smoke (exhaust). So much for EGR or better donks - the D4D can make a bit of smoke when "pushed"

The best thing I have bought for my boat is the Navman fuel gauge hooked into the GPS. Not only helps to miser fuel but it helps the trim as the less fuel used means the most efficient hull displacement. I get best economy at 4500 revs which is much higher than I would have imagined before installing the gauge.

hmm....V8, 320HP - ski boat....no such thing as trim. For bare-foot its generally one speed - flat out (or near to it)!!
