    Hi ntpryce,

Have you done 10k yet? As I approached 10k my consumption improved by another 1L/100km.

I now regularly get 10L/100km. My best consumption was 9.3L/100Kms. That was the only tankfull that did not include some 4WDing. That was a sad month .

      Re: FUEL CONSUMPTION

Hi Guys, new to the forum. Purchased a 2008 GXL D4D Manual in August and have done 5000km now. Driving home from Brisbane to Darwin we averaged 10.7l/100km on the first couple of tanks.
I started to get curious when i got worse mileage out of the second half of the tank too, so i waited until the 90L light just came on and filled up only to find out that it took 100L to fill. Its one of those things where i guess you dont read your gauge too accurately and just go by how many km per tank you have been averaging.

Haven't done 10,000k yet. Although I've have noticed that the fuel consumption has slowly improved over our last long traveling leg where it dropped down to about 11L/100km average. At what speed did you get 9.3L/100k?

I think our ARB roof rack and equipment up top can reduce fuel economy by around 0.5-1L/100km too - which might offset the difference.

I love this 180L tank though... great to drive past all the higher priced outlets knowing you have the range to reach the next major pit stop when travelling.

        Cheers. 8)

          Re: FUEL CONSUMPTION

The month we got 9.3 was >50% on the highway. Most months it's mixed suburban/highway travel and we typically see 9.9 - 10.1.

I agree with the 180L... it's bloody unreal and gives total peace of mind when entering remotish 4x4 terrain.

I too have similar results from the D4D.

My average total usage over 45,000 km's is 10.3 L/100km. Average usage per tank on mixed urban/highway driving is between 9.8 and 10.6 depending whether I am driving or the wife...

              Hi All,
drove from Perth to Port Hedland towing a Camper trailer and got 10.95/100km at an average speed between 95km/h
My 2004 model has the diesel gas system which has helps reduce the diesel usage.

              Distance of 1650km
              180.36l of diesel
              44.6l of gas

                Thats very good Gaza.

My best figures so far are 13l/100kms with a 2004 TD. How much did the gas conversion cost you if you don't mind me asking?

Ummm I might be wrong be if you add the lpg and diesel together that works out to be 13.57L/100km. Or do you not add the amount of the LPG into the fuel cost.

Filling up this afternoon a bloke looks at the pump and sees 154l gone in. Comments that he is glad he is filling up his car and not mine. After telling him that we had just driven from Cairns to Brisbane and this is the first time we have topped up the tanks he was picking his jaw up off the ground. Got about 8.9l/100km.

You gotta love the range - even if it does hurt the hip pocket to fill it up (when you do).

I just filled mine up after 6 weeks of putting around town. By my calcs I shouldn't have to fill up til Christmas when we go away.

We did a trip with some overseas visitors: Adelaide, Burra, Morgan, Mildura, Lake Mungo, Kinchega NP, Menindee, Broken Hill. Dropped 3 Passengers off at the Broken Hill rail station bound for Sydney.

We filled up at the Broken Hill Shell at 148.8c/L and 127.4 Litres for 1200km - 10.6L/100km. That was with a full load of luggage and 5 adults on board, and a lot of slow running around Lake Mungo and Menindee lakes/Kinchega NP (nothing in low range though). Prado has a bit over 2000km on it now. Not a bad result considering the load and the brand new vehicle.
