Hi MRW, Very nice install, really intrested to know how its working how often have you had to empty or check for oil/water residue. Looks like a provent 100 which is what i have been looking at due to its size, on their site they recommend that the 100 will do up to 100kw engine with a flow rate of 100lt/min(i think),wasn't sure how critical that is for this application. any feedback appreciated i need to order mine to install after manifold/egr clean.

yes its the same as the provent 100. I had to modify the drain, it was just an open barb, which I cut off and tapped a 1/8"bsp thread into for a compact push in fitting. You could possibly mount it a bit higher and use it as it is, but then the holes won't line up as well for the bracket. And it was hard to work around the intercooler support bracket with the hoses, that's why I ended up using copper plumbing bends.

I've only had it on for about 1000km, but the drain line is still empty. The hosetails on the catch can are 19mm, the PCV hose on the prado is 16mm so it should flow more volume than the car requires.

Thanks, did you make the bracket?, good idea with the copper bends they look like they fit good onto the 19mm outlet/inlet have you reduced size out of the bend to suit the 16mm hose onto existing fittings

Made the bracket myself, after a lot of thinking on how/where to mount it the bracket ended up being quite simple.

The 3/4"(19mm) copper bend fits neatly over the barb on the catch can, with a bit of loctite so it doesn't move. Then a short piece of 3/4"pipe which 5/8"(16mm) pipe fits inside to be silver soldered and then the hose clamps on neatly.

I think I've still got dimensions for the bracket if its useful to you, keeping in mind the drain fitting will need to be modified.

The provent is a proven and tested product made a reputable company that has been operating for a very long time.
I personally have fitted many provent 100 n 200 . Too many diesel vehicles .
You shouldn't have to empty it to often,

That is a different person. This is my new girlfriend, well she will be my new girlfriend when I ask her to date me. Until then I will just keep a low profile and watch through windows etc etc.

                          • I've installed a Provent catch can but now I hear a vibrating sound coming from it at low revs 1000- 1500 above 1500 it stops. Don't hear at idle.
Anyone else hear the same noise ? I assume its related to the relief valve ??

                            • Genuine Provent or a copy? Could be the bracket.

                              • Genuine Provent , the brackets are great on them but it seems to be related to when the motor is laboring at low revs.
Maybe there's not enough pressure at low revs to keep the relief valve open??
