  • Issue with running without the crank - turbo hose

Just that, mounting up my ProVent catch can, taking the damn thing apart and then discovering that the "kit" comes with 3/8" hose and the 1KD-FTV uses 1/2" from the crankcase and 3/4" into the turbo.

Issue with running without the hose for a short while until I can get it sorted?

I wouldn't, as you risk blowing seals.

Yeah, thought that - looks like at first light I am re-attaching. Joy. Nothing like doing the job twice, should work for a dealership...

Have you run the 16mm hose to and from the can but just can't connect to the can? Nothing to stop you putting a 16mm joiner in temporarily. Like a few using the genuine ProVent I put the hoses inside the hose tails on the can and used heat shrink to hold it all together.

No, worse than that the 1/2 meter of 3/4" hose is way to short to go from the bottom of the Provent to the turbo/air intake. Like I mentioned the kit came with 2 meters of 3/8" but that is too small for the crankcase.

Sorry I misread your original post... I assumed that you were going to block off the crankcase breather with the tube removed - this would blow seals. However if you can find a way of fixing the 3/8 hose, it should be ok for a while (but better to upgrade asap).

I can't find the article now... but I was amazed at the volume of gas that is vented through that breather. Especially for older motors where the rings may be a bit worn. Most of the pressure is blow by on the overrun, with very little pressure being created under power.
