Thanks Dave.
I just did a cold test. (Not as cold as I'd have liked. Was garaged over night. Note coolant temp) I recorded the data to watch later. Here is the output -
Engine speed 859
Coolant temp 28c
Injector volume 9.19
Injector Feedback Value #1 2.0
Injector Feedback Value #2 -1.6
Injector Feedback Value #3 -1.6
Injector Feedback Value #4 0.9
Target Rail pressure: 34370 to 36210
Fuel pressure: 31210 to 34570
After 5mins -
Engine speed 829
Coolant temp 36c
Injector volume 6.95
Injector Feedback Value #1 1.8
Injector Feedback Value #2 -1.5
Injector Feedback Value #3 -1.8
Injector Feedback Value #4 0.9
Target Rail pressure: 33240 to 33820
Fuel pressure: 30060 to 34870
So, the injectors seem within range. I would be dissapointed if they weren't, being new. Just curious if it is worth replacing the Suction Control Valve, given it is a pretty simple job.
Readings coolant at 20+ degrees & after a minute idling is good for a cold start test.
Full normal temp is 83 degrees.
Remember total injection volume will be up, before the engine warms, once the target rpm is 700, I like to see under 9's.
Has anyone had any issues with their suction control valves located on the back of the fuel pump? I was reading about these things on a chip manufacturers website. Apparantly they wear out and the ECU dosen't compensate for wear. I tried re-initialising mine last night and it worked as I noticed at idle the fuel rail pressure was sitting below the target pressure, going up to target pressure and dropping back down. The rail pressure wasn't staying constant. The car was much more responsive to drive this morning and afternoon.
The valves cost less than $200. Can they be replaced with the pump on the vehicle or does the pump have to be removed?
Yes, the majority of my customers take my advise, that is replace it while doing the injectors.
It is a wear n tear item similar to the injectors & pipes, I advise replacing them at the same time.
I have tested injectors & Scv on customers vehicles & scv have been crazy out on the scan tool, but to date some ppl have not replaced them & not had any symptoms.
On another, Have had fuel surging & stalling issues, even when at test time it looks ok, so that's why I say just do the full job, one with the lot.
Save on pipes & Scv, but it might come back & bite you.
Toyota retail pricing is just over $500.00 for the part.

Just to clarify, the breakdown of our 'usual' charges are:
$1298 for 4 injectors
$ 275 for basic remove + refit of injectors
$ 220 for complete intake and EGR removal, cleanout and re-fit (only done if required)
$ 330 (worst case scenario) for Suction Control Valve - fitted (only done if required)
$ 330 complete set of fuel lines (only done if required)
So the whole box and dice drive in / drive out is a worse case scenario of $2453. Most come in under $2000.
Hope this helps
By fitting non genuine / aftermarket or maybe even copy parts ?
Its not a hard job to do, but there will be diagnostic time and scan tool charges included in that too i'd assume
Which makes the part dam cheap !
Im sure Matt from Baileys will advise
TNZ advised that the SCV valve discription is in the part catalouge as SCV overhaul kit - update
TNZ trade price is $470 nzd. . Approx $420 aud plus $10-20 shipping
You guys in Oz are getting stiffed by TA for genuine parts
I checked today, retail here at Toyo is $520.00 trade is is cheaper, but that's up to the dealer isn't it.
I thought u would have come up with a better price, based on others deals u have done.

Now thats hillarious -Pretty much 20% off Oz retail. I thought that was pretty dam good offer to post up
Some parts are dearer here - I paid over $480 NZD for "vac" engine mounts (pr)
I do believe they are much cheaper in Oz?
Ive offered ages ago to price anything through TNZ for any member ( at no benefit for myself )
If I can help others save a dollar or two - then it helps make the PP forum worthwhile
Discussion + disissions = informed actions
PS #### - are you a paid advertiser for Bailey's ? Bahaha

Funny hey, glad you find it amusing, lucky I didn't post my trade price lol......
Yeah engine mounts here under $100 ea. let me know if you want some & I will put a deal together with my Toyo dealer here.
Hey go ahead & price stuff up, all good, but yes, I will put it out there to save PP'ers a dollar or a hundred also.
I understand it varies a bit, but thought they might have some consistency.
Like I said before, if I could get paid for it, I'd be up for it, as I truly believe BDG product is a breakthrough.
The DLC spindle all the way is the go, you can't get it anywhere else.
BDG pay to be here on PP & If you have an issue with it, I regret having to say, perhaps that reflects your $$$ interest & possible loss of?, due to me mentioning baileys ( might sway sales?? who knows, i hope so for the owners) I offer advise in the best direction I can.
As I have also said, before baileys had DLC all the way, you didn't hear from me about it.
As soon as DENSO decide to supply new parts, with DLC all the way, like they do with some vehicles, that might create some competition but till then, you get my drift.
Don't take it the wrong way bro, your doing a good job offering the service, wether u put a buck on it or not, I think it's fair to cover some cost. If the price is right, the people have another option.
I'm in - how hard is it to change one out on a Prado? Is it easier to remove the sump guard and do it from below?

with ARB Catalog, with TJM add ons!
we quote $330 for SCV as this is worst case scenario. Some are as low as $180, Genuine new in box Denso part.
Also, keep posted (shameless plug) as we're launching 1800injectors shortly where there will be a FULL range of parts that relate to CR systems and turbochargers. been working really hard on Genuine Solutions to fix some of the problems, and even when we couldnt, find genuine parts at a really fair rate...
